A gut renovation was performed on this East 88th Street penthouse residence. Built-up wood mouldings and full wood panel walls were installed in keeping with the pre-war design of the building. Pearwood was chosen for the wood panel walls and built-ins in the library. Oak was selected for the new floors throughout the apartment.
HVAC work was concealed using streamline linear diffusers. Custom made floor to ceiling cabinetry was installed in the kitchen along with granite countertops and high-end appliances. Bathrooms were restored using Crema Marfil marble tiles. The detailed crown mouldings were highlighted by the installation of recessed cove lighting.
The final piece was to install a steel door to the terrace to match the existing steel windows while hardware was upgraded in the style to match the décor.
